friday finds and weekend plans

Hello friday, gosh it sure is nice to see you! It has been an almighty busy week this week and I sure am glad that the weekend is about to dawn upon us.

Do you have any fabulous weekend plans? We are heading away to spend some time with family in Sydney as it is my birthday this weekend. I will be turning that big number that starts with a 3 and ends with a 0. Part of me doesn't want to type those two numbers next to each other, although everyone does that that the thirties are now the new twenties... But I am sure people have been saying that for decades.

For this weeks Friday finds I have visited my favourite friend Pinterest. It really is one of my number one online loves, it is one of those websites that I think if you could kiss it, I probably would.

This week I have grabbed some of my favourite images off my typography boards
1. I love you more then cupcakes - love love love. Orginal source unknown.
6. Love love love these vintage graphics found via This isn't Happiness

Hope my little dash of typography brings some type love to your friday.
Have a great weekend my sweets, see you all again next week.

friday love

Happy Friday my sweets! Hard to believe it is the end of yet another week. I am a little giddy with excitement that this weekend is very unplanned. With a few jobs on the press, the rest of the time we have no plans. Such a wonderful feeling, I am quite excited about it!!

A few friday loves for you on this lovely afternoon:
1// I stumbled across these fabulous teacake cushions from the UK this week and couldn't resist buying one. I think it will be a winner on our linen couch.
2// Another buy this week was the Frankie 2012 Calender. I have bought one every single year, and today I  heard that they were nearly sold out... I would have been devastated to have missed out!
3// My other favourite Calender for 2012 is Paper Boat Press's beautifully designed Calender, which apparently are selling like hot cakes as well. Grab one here while they last. They are just divine.
4// The latest PaperRunway is out, full of entertaining ideas, yet another fabulous issue by the talented Paper Runway Team, we are tickled pink to see some of our letterpress goodies featured.
5// Have you heard that the latest round of Brisbane Finders Keepers designers have been announced? You can view the amazing line up here and here.We cant wait to attend!
6// A gorgeous typographic video for you type lovers. Gosh we love it.

Have a most lovely weekend!

eye candy

Are you an interior blog stalker? I sure do suffer from this addictive past time and today wanted to share some of my latest blogs reads with you.

The stunning above image (could I ever be so brave as to wallpaper a ceiling? It looks amazing!) was found via Gramercy blog which in turn was found via The House of Turquoise blog. From Tasmania I have been drooling over Marley and Lockyer blog and from New Hampshire, United States I have been gobsmacked by this amazing kitchen demolition and rebuild from For The Love of House Blog - aw-inspiring stuff!

Have a most lovely weekend friends. Here in the studio we have some client meetings and then with our super busy print schedule at the moment we will be printing for most of the weekend. Hopefully your weekend is a little less busy - we hope that you can relax and enjoy it!

love :: elkhorn

Hello friends, How have you been? Around here we are pretty glad that it is Friday. It has been a bit of a strange week, lots of work getting done, but not much energy to bounce through it in our usual sort of way.

I do find that it is always a slow process winding down after Finders Keepers - all that build up getting products ready, followed by an amazing two days, results in about a week of recovery I have decided. However the one thing I do love about post Finders Keepers - playing with all the new goodies which were purchased!

One of my favourite purchases was one that I have eyed off for quite some time! A few Sydney Finders Keepers ago a lovely friend and colleague of mine purchased an amazing ruffle scarf - every time she wore it I had serious scarf envy. And I mean serious, I am sure I was almost salivating over it.

So, what do you know, the first thing that I noticed upon setting up for Finders Keepers is that the magical ruffle scarfs were back! Made by Monique at Elkhorn I was pretty blown away by their display - it was amazing! Monique very graciously allowed me to photograph her stall to share with you above. Oh and yes, I bought the scarf (sorry Miss T, hope you don't mind if we are a bit matchy matchy).

Elkhorn is based out of the Central Coast of NSW where they design and screen print a collection of lifestyle products including home wares, cushions, table runners and tea towels as well as hand made and screen printed clothing and accessories. All inspired by their natural bush and coastal surrounds - Talk about clever!

Make sure you check out the Elkhorn blog and shop and the good news? If your in Brisbane they will be traveling up north for the Brisbane July 2nd/3rd Finders Keepers - Yay!!

love :: wait

I have long been a lover of Paper Boat Press and was super excited at Sydney Finders Keepers to have a stall next to my dear friend Kylie and her magical girls.

One of my favourite purchases from the weekend was a "wait" sculpture which is a collaboration between Kylie and the adorable Sarah who makes crocheted wonders to sit upon Kylie ceramic beauties. Such a beautiful, perfect and sweet union between two lovely friends and two beautifully tactile crafts.

They are all unique in their own little free form way. It was quite a challenge to choose a favourite to bring home, but now I am thinking that one is not enough and my one "wait" might be the start of a little collection.

This beautiful collaboration will also be showing at the Brisbane Finders Keepers in July.

Thank you Kylie & Sarah for letting me photograph your work, being such gorgeous market stall neighbours and being such delightful friends.

love :: paper runway

Are you a paper lover? I unashamedly admit that I am - the smell, the feel and all that potential found inside of a single piece of paper - I love it in so many ways. My love affair with paper has been a life long addiction and I would say it is pretty extreme - if I could build a house made of paper and live in it - I think that I probably would. Paper walls, paper lights, paper tables and paper bowls. It could work??

If you also belong to this paper obsessive club I do suggest that you go check Paper Runway - a brand new online magazine dedicated to all things paperish. Keep an eye out for Charlie, he got a half a centerfold. Sexy beast.

love :: finding new blogs

This weeks love is all about finding new blogs - with a world of blogs out there these days, it really does take something special to grab my attention!

My three latest finds are Oh, hello friend - beautifully designed with amazing finds (and some great deals to buy). Curated by Danni this graphic designer has a great eye for design and keeps things fresh and sweet - you can also check out the amazing photos from her amazing wedding here.

Closer to home, I have been loving the Sunday Collector blog - Briar Stanley is a Sydney based props buyer and interior stylist. Follow her travels as she thrift shops, styles and takes fabulous photography. Serious job envy!!

love :: pinterest

Do you pinterest?? Up until a few weeks ago I had never heard of this website, However now that I have I must admit that I am well and truly hooked!

I am a bit of a visual hoarder. I love to collect images, inspirations, colour palettes, house inspirations and typography. All sorts of gorgeous images I find on the web have either been randomly saved onto my computer or added to an ever expanding pile of bookmarks. Admittedly these folders started of with all good intentions but several years later have just grown in to a series uncontrollable monsters.

However, along comes pinterest and my visual organisational obsessive trait is tickled pink! Each image you find on the internet you "pin" into a mood board of like images and it stores all the information such as the source location you initially found the image {yay for not ever losing the source of an image again!}.

You can build and grow boards of images which you can then share with others, effectively creating a network of a beautifully orchestrated delightful visual wonders.

So easy and oh so fabulous, may the visual hording long live.

You can find, view and follow my boards here.

To join Pinterest you do need to be invited, If you would like an invitation please do leave your email address in the comments field (or email us) and we will organise it for you!

finding calm

Today we are run off our feet in the studio. On days like these I really pine for a sweet calm serenity. Somehow I think I would most certainly find that walking into this room above. Every little bit of me would relax into a calm dream like state. Work (as lovely as it is) would seem a distant memory don't you think?

love :: pony rider

Do you ever get those "oh my god I love" moments? I seem to get them a lot, however sometimes I get those moments and it comes with some much more then love - it comes with awe, a deep appreciation and that feeling that makes me so jolly happy. Usually it involves amazing independent designers, coupled with just damn fabulous typography and Pony Rider is exactly one of these.

Last week I got an email in my inbox from Kelly and Pony Rider. She dropped me a line to say she had viewed our work and loved it. I gushed so badly, and did a little squeal as I too had been loving her work for sometime... it kind of seemed a little like a touch of fate.

You might have seen the work of Pony Rider around lately - they have been so deserving featured in a few of our favourite mags, but do make sure to take the time to check them out here and visit their shop here. I just adore everything - the typography, the colours, the photography styling. Oh my, such lovely love.

love :: oh so beautiful paper

It is true, I suffer from blog obsessive overload disorder. However what keeps my sane in this big wide world of blogs are those which just get it right and time and time again. These beautifully written and presented blogs keep me just that little bit calm amongst the manic storm of design blogs out there in the world.

And one of my all time favourite blogs if Oh So Beautiful Paper. This adorable blog has been a firm favourite of mine for years. It is one of my first daily port of blog calls each and every morning. Living in the land of paper myself, I can't help but feel at home.

Oh So Beautiful Paper originates out of Washington DC and is written and curated by Nole, who I must admit I think I have a little girly design crush upon. Do make sure you pop on by and have a visit, be warned though, so much paper candy will keep you busy for hours!!

Have a great weekend my sweets!

love :: BHLDN

I am a little late with our Friday love today. However have you heard about BHLDN? I do think it is a bit of a weird name (although apparently means "to keep" in dutch), however it is Anthropologies new wedding line, and oh my, if you haven't yet seen it make sure you do so here.

The thing that I love so much, that although I am a married woman already, there is an amazing collection of outfits, shoes and hair pieces, which I think would make amazing outfits as a wedding guest! Can someone invite me to their wedding please????

Have a great weekend sweet peas.

xox

p.s BHLDN only ships to the USA and Canada, however you can check out mail forwarding companies such as this one - which could make these beauties yours too.

love :: goldenink collaborative

Here on the Bespoke Blog - we are happy to announce a new Friday post category - Love. Each week we will feature designers who inspire us, products which we simple just adore, and generally things which we just plain love (and we love alot, so this category should keep us quite busy!!).

To start us off this week we are super excited to introduce you to Golden Ink Collaborative. From last Summers Finders Keepers market in Sydney you might remember we had beautiful next door neighbors Abby and Kate who together combined make Goldenink. We featured them in our Finders Keepers wrap up post here. We bought one of the vessels (and had to restrain ourselves from buying so many more) and have loved it every single day since.

Well this week these clever ladies have launched their online store. Run, jump, go, I promise you, it is well and truly worth the effort!!
