Ode to Owls

I have been illustrating like crazy for my first series of art prints to be launched soon. Yesterday saw me having an Owl kind of day and amongst procastination about the owls I managed to find these gorgeous owl inspired products off etsy. The Owls on Yellow Clutch purse above is by Wisconsin girl Jennifer Ladd.

Happy Weekend!

Its a wet cold miserable Brisbane day today - usually perfect weather for staying indoors. However I managed to buy the gorgeous antique chase lounge above off ebay for $157 recently and had organised to pick this up this morning.

My gorgeous husband hired a trailer and we went off in the torrential rain one hour south of our house to pick it up. I must admit, I do not recomened transporting furniture in pouring rain. More so, I do not recommend loading or unloading it either!!

A few hours later, much more saturated then when we begun we have finally unloaded it into its new home. Im thinking a new coat of white paint and a big strong black and white pin stripe upholstery and its going to be well worth the effort... Pouring rain and all!

I've had a lovely Friday afternoon - teaching my design students on the joys of being a freelance designer and setting up your own business.

Operating my own businesses has been such a real joy in my life. Bespoke Press is my third business and its so lovely to have your own little design baby which you develop, nurture and grow.

I love working for my design clients and get such a great joy from being able to offer them impeccable service. There is just something so rewarding about being able to design and print not only something that is beautiful, but something that will communicate well and bring joy and benefit to their life as well.

I love being a designer :)

Ann Wood Handmade

I have just discovered Ann Wood Handmade via Oh Joy blog - and im smitten!

Such gorgeous little handmade birds created by the super talented Ann Wood from New York made with vintage and antique fabrics. Incredible intricate and totally adorable!! She specalises in these little birdies as cake toppers for weddings. Oh so lovely!

Madame Fancy Pants

I stumbled into Madame Fancy Pants in Cuba Street, Wellington New Zealand last September and immediately fell in love. Cuba Street is Wellingtons Bohemian strip, surrounded by gorgeous cafes, and well worth a whole days visit (or two!).

Claire the owner was simply lovely and she had a gorgeous eye for design. Its not only home to Claires' gorgeous jewelery design, but also a pool of talented designers she has sourced from across the globe, and an incredible chandelier handmade by Claire herself. She also has a fabulous collection of clothing, stationary and designer pieces. Its the perfect combination!

I bought a super funky hand bag in one of my favourite Amy Butler fabrics, and have loved it ever since!!

I really believe in Madame Fancy Pants and all that they stand for. If you ever in NZ its well worth a visit, especially if your there in time for their super dooper sale!
