smitten

Around here we are pretty smitten. Smitten with our super sweet clients, smitten with our cotton papers, smitten with our amazing assistants, smitten with Miss Ruby Tuesday (in case you hadn't noticed) and most of all smitten with our metal beasts which thump day in and day out. It is pretty spectacular indeed.

weekend plans

Hello muffins, hope you've had a good week. Around here we have a busy weekend planned - we've got some new goodies in production, a few weddings to print and a few meetings to attend. I am think that I might just well need my famous Banana & Mars Bar cake to get us through the weekend.

See you again next week!

back into production

We are back up and printing in the studio again. For a few days Miss Ruby Tuesday and I have been lost souls. Dear Herbie decided to chuck a bit of a wobbly last Saturday and break his most important part - the part that makes the ink hit the paper!! A mad dash to email every Heidelberg supplier we could find, Thanks to Mr H's handy work, much sweat and a few bruises we are back up and running again. Phew.

julia & justin :: wedding stationery

Today we have a really sweet invitation suite to share with you. Julia & Justin are having a gorgeous garden ceremony, in one of their favourite parks which is beautifully green, quiet and dog friendly - and oh, don't we love dogs in bow ties at weddings! Featuring varying shades of dusty pink in their wedding styling we designed their invitation stationery to be beautifully gentle, sweet and undeniably pretty. A gorgeous dusty pink, mixed with a very light gelato green. Just delightful.

Thankyou Julia & Justin - it was such a pleasure to work with you, and Ruby Tuesday especially loved all her email love in which you sent! xox

jen & jeff :: wedding stationery

Today I wanted to show you a very quick peek at a recent wedding stationery suite we recently designed and letterpress printed for Jen & Jeff who are having a family friendly wedding at the races.

Printed in a deep midnight blue ink on our white cotton stocks, we love its bold simplicity, with a slight touch of country romance thrown in. Plus how can you not love a couple whose names both start with the same initial? And even better, we love how their names have a perfect balanced harmony in the way they connect and interlock together in our above design. Talk about a perfect way to start a marriage together!

the feed table

This is Herbies feed table. Its one of my favourite places in all of his 1200 kilos of cast iron loveliness. Here we load up fresh ream of cotton paper. We "fan the deck" to loosen up the sheets and then stack them with perfect precision, ready to print. Here a perfectly measured blast of air separates each sheet. The top 6 sheets perfectly rise and fall by the air blast ready to be picked up and pressed into something beautiful. The rest of the ream awaits patiently, their time too will come.

Its the place where things begin, where the cotton goes from being just cotton, to cotton that has been planned, designed, plated, inked and impressed. It is such a spot of potential, of new beginnings, and of endless possibilities.

a message from upper management

Life here in the studio has been very busy of late. So as the official studio manager, I have deemed the next few days a holiday for our faithful workers.

The studio will resume all duties from the 14th of September.

Much love,
Ruby Tuesday
(aka boss dog)
