seriously in love

I love ebay, there is no denying it, im seriously in love.

For just $31 this gorgeous antique Remington typewriter is our newest acquisition. I simply love its oldness, its vintage lettering and all my romantic notions of the beautiful thoughts, poetry and stories that it may have produced in its former life - im thinking rolling acres, a country homestead and Jane Austen style romanticism!

For now, its typing days are over but its destined to sit in our studio and fill our hearts with glee at its beautiful oldness. Its a treasure worth admiring don't you think?

  1. Alischa, I hate to be the one to break it to you, but this is exactly the type of typewriter your mother learnt to type on! You should have a go at typing on it and imagine sitting all day banging away on one of these beauties. My how things have changed in 30 years!

  2. eBay is the bestest. Mr. Unreliable just bought me a 1921 Singer sewing machine, I can't wait to go pick it up. A typewriter is next on my hit list :D

  5. Beautiful! How come I can never find bargains like that on Ebay??? At the moment I am a bit mad over vintage quills and sewing items.... Also been doing over the op shops looking for mismatched china for my daughter's Mad Hatter Teaparty, BLISS!

  6. You always take the most beautiful pictures. Your new typewriter should feel very loved in it's new home.

  7. Wonderful - I am on a mission to find one that works! (Even though I imagine it will feel like year 8 typing class all over again!)

  11. such a work of art. And I bet the typists of days old would have never thought the machines they worked on wuld be treasured by the rest of us in the years to come. Something tells me that in generations to come they won't be coveting the laptops we use now in the same way we do the typewriter! x
