going home

I have spoken before here, here and here about how I love "going home" to my parents gardens. Home is down in Sydney, out about an hour from the city itself in a gorgeously secluded pocket of bush and acreage. Going home at spring is simply the best. Mum & Dads beautiful gardens and lawns are alive and driving towards their acreage you can spot their gardens in the distance. Its simply too beautiful, and nothing else makes me feel quite so at home.

Mum not only grows my most favourite David Austen roses, but also has a lovely collection of crystal vases to suit. I see it as my pleasure to bring the two together and fill my parents home with little pockets of flowers when I am in town. Mum never seems to find the time to bring her garden indoors, so I really hope she doesn't mind that the first thing I do when I get home is steal her best scissors and head outdoors.

This little collection of David Austen's found a new home upon the mantelpiece. With the afternoon sun reflecting through the crystal, and the most amazing fragrance to suit, they were simply too beautiful for words.

happy weekend!!

Have a most gorgeous weekend my friends. Later today we are headed down to Sydney to attend the lovely Bec & Tims wedding. We have had an enormously busy week here printing in the studio, with very sore muscles and a sore foot from foot treadling Charlie so much, we bid you farewell and hope to arrive back in the studio refreshed and a little less sore!

Oh and the images above? Found via the sweet girls at Lella and Zee we adore this gorgeous calendar by the talented Catherine Campbell and declare it our favourite calendar of the new year! Available for just US$18 via her etsy store.

See you next week!

letterpress swing tags

We are crazy hectic here in the studio today. So many wedding packages in production - they are keeping us super busy indeed!!

So for a quick little sweet blog post today I wanted to show you some very cute personalised swing tags we recently produced for Annie & Julian. You may remember their letterpress save the dates and letterpress wedding invitations we produced earlier this year. These gorgeous little tags featured a letterpress outer casing, with personalised insert, bound together with a silver eyelet and ivory ribbon. So very sweet!

andrew & kathy wedding stationery

We recently completed letterpress wedding invitations for the delightful Andrew & Kathy who are a local Brisbane couple who are getting married in February next year. Their wedding theme is based upon pale duck egg blue and coupled with small touched of sunflowers for their happy and joyful feel. Through out their wedding styling they will be evoking an air of elegance and classic timelessness.

We designed their letterpress wedding invitations with a gorgeous elegant script typeface coupled with a vintage serif for contrast. They chose to have their invitations personalised, so that each and every invitation is letterpress printed with the guests names.

A delicate vintage sunflower illustration was printed in a very light lemon so that it is only subtly visible and doesn't distract away from the gorgeous typography. Coupled with reply cards, thankyou cards and pinstripe lined envelopes these are a beautifully delicate and such a lovely fresh colour combination to work with!

the sweetest of friends

It was such a lovely joy to see many new and old friends at the Finders Keepers on the weekend. It is such a blessing to have the support of so many beautifully creative and sweet people. To online friends, ex students, clients and beautiful creative friends thankyou for stopping by. Your love and support makes what we do here at Bespoke just that little bit more special!

The gorgeous Louise from Floralovely stopped by with these divine David Austen roses for us. They took my breathe away! She is the sweetest, loveliest thing who creates the most amazing wedding floral designs - you can see her gorgeous work on her wedding we featured earlier this year. We were blown away by her gorgeous gift - David Austens are my most favourite flower, and her arrangement was simply divine - thankyou Louise, you are too beautiful. xox

emma & leon wedding stationery

We have recently finished the production of a gorgeous wedding stationery set for Emma & Leon who are to be wed on the 28th of December this year. Their wedding is to be located in the gorgeous French Provincial grounds of Deux Belettes, in the Bryon Bay hinterland. We used this beautiful location to design Emma & Leon's simple and elegant, yet undeniably french wedding stationery.

Printed on ivory cotton stocks, the strong use of negative white space allows the full impact of gorgeous typography utilising a combination of upper case, lower case and script. The botanical illustration is printed in a subtle ivory ink and was inspired by the garden surrounds of the wedding location.

As their wedding is a destination wedding they had a large amount of information to provide for their guests. To keep costs down and avoid having to print a large quantity of individual letterpress cards, we designed the invitation as a single outer card and then letterpressed a booklet cover. Inserts were then digitally printed and the whole lot bound with machine stitching. Beautifully paired together and inserted into our ivory cotton envelopes this invitation is certainly the sort to be kept and treasured!

oh dear

We seem to be suffering from a terribly painful online problem here in the studio. Our new internet provider is letting us down time and time again, our apologies to our clients and friends, we will be able to email you back soon. In the mean time, Ruby sends her love from the studio and she also hopes to be back online soon as she is missing you all somewhat terribly.
