frances and mitch placesettings

Last week we made a delivery of eighty odd gorgeous orchid soap placesettings. Chosen from our Bespoke Collection of wedding bon bon gifts, these gorgeous little handmade soaps smelt absolutely divine and filled our studio with the most amazing fragrance.

To produce these gorgeous little gifts we have have wrapped the soap in a metallic ivory stock printed with a black pinstripe. Then the package is bound with a gorgeous black and pewter ribbon, and then wrapped in an ivory cotton bellyband. Each band has been individually letterpress printed and personalised with each guests name and printed with a rear thankyou message from the sweet couple. Such lovely little packages which double as both a bon bon gift and a placesetting all in one.

We wish Frances & Mitch the most amazing wedding this coming Saturday - we will be thinking of you and sending you beautiful weather, wonderful company and plenty of love for your perfect day!

a very special day

This day 5 years ago, my dear sweet beautiful love of my life became my husband. Situated amongst the most beautiful gardens of my parents Sydney acreage, we stood beneath an especially built white timber arbour in the rose garden and had Haydens uncle marry us in a very personal ceremony. We had the most perfect day, everything was immaculate, beautifully presented and I would live it over and over and over again if I could.

What an gorgeous, beautiful and happy five years we have had. We have moved interstate numerous times, travelled the world, bought and built our home, started our businesses and settled into life with Ruby our sweet little dog. Married life has been wonderful, how blessed we are to have found each other and to be sharing this journey together.

So to my love, thankyou for everything you do. Everyday that you are home is such a joy and everyday your away I miss you more and more. Thankyou for all your love and support, your beautiful smile and gorgeous happy nature. Thankyou for the endless printing, cleaning of presses and assemblage of wedding packages - it means the world to me. Thankyou for all our happy days, the sweetest of memories and the most beautiful life we share.

You are my everything. I love you the longest of times. xox

rachel and bryan save the dates

We recently completed this gorgeous job for Rachel and Bryan. With their Autumn wedding planned at the gorgeous Bailey's Winery we wanted their save the date cards to reflect a little of this vintage winery, beautiful establish gardens and rustic elegance found at their venue.

Printed on ivory stocks in a classic mustard brown, these save the date cards feature our signature scalloped corners and a beautiful combination of upper case, lower case and italics to create a classic yet understated elegant card. Oh and the tree - a little hint at bigger and better things to come in the rest of their wedding stationery!!

beautiful typography

We recently had the joy of printing invitations designed by Matthew James at OK Creative here in Brisbane. We adored his gorgeous use of typography, and the beautiful way in which Matt had joined Amy & Gareth's names together through the descender of the y which tucks perfectly into the ascender of the t - Just beautiful and such a joy to print!

featured wedding: kristie & ken

Today we have a really lovely treat for you! We have been promising to feature Kristie & Kens Sunshine coast wedding on our blog for some time now, so without much further ado, here are gorgeous photographs and the story behind Kristie & Kens amazing wedding.

Date: September 12, 2009
Location: Ebb Waterfront Maroochydore. We fell in love with this venue as soon as we saw it. The fact that we could have our accommodation, ceremony and reception in the same place made the whole day feel connected and intimate and also gave our guests a better chance to mingle and to get to know each other. The view from the restaurant and terrace was breathtaking as well which is always a plus and the food and wine was to die for!!
Photographer: Brad Peate from Focus Films, absolutely incredible!!
Stationery: Bespoke Letterpress Boutique, featured here, here and here.
Florist: Monique from Tigerlillies
Wedding Gown: Hilde Heim
Bridesmaids Gowns: Ultra Suite
Grooms suits: Bought from The General Store (it actually ended up cheaper than hiring!!)
My favourite moment of the day: Seeing Ken waiting for me before our ceremony with the ocean and Maroochydore river in the background.
Little things you did to make your wedding day truly unique? I bought most of our decorations online, it’s amazing how much you cam save by doing some research and also, I can now resell the decorations to other DIY brides! We also invited guests to come to the venue half an hour early for champagne just to give them a chance to mingle and be comfortable before the ceremony.
Styling tips & ideas: The view from our venue was the shining star so we didn’t need to over complicate our styling. I guess I tried to incorporate simple elegant touches (such as candlelight reflected off plate mirrors) which complemented the venues unique characteristics rather than competed with them. I also took a lot of inspiration from blogs such as www.stylemepretty.com and incredible bridal magazines such as Style Guide and Bride to Be.
Other little things you would like to share? I think the most important lesson I learnt through the whole planning process and the outcome of the day is that no matter how much time and effort you spend organising every last detail, you can’t control everything. On the day things will happen that aren’t to plan and when they do, it’s so important to remind yourself why you are there in the first place.

Thankyou Kristie & Ken! It has been such a joy to work with you both throughout the planning for your gorgeous day. We wish you all the very best for a beautiful lifetime of love, joy and happiness.

going home

I have spoken before here, here and here about how I love "going home" to my parents gardens. Home is down in Sydney, out about an hour from the city itself in a gorgeously secluded pocket of bush and acreage. Going home at spring is simply the best. Mum & Dads beautiful gardens and lawns are alive and driving towards their acreage you can spot their gardens in the distance. Its simply too beautiful, and nothing else makes me feel quite so at home.

Mum not only grows my most favourite David Austen roses, but also has a lovely collection of crystal vases to suit. I see it as my pleasure to bring the two together and fill my parents home with little pockets of flowers when I am in town. Mum never seems to find the time to bring her garden indoors, so I really hope she doesn't mind that the first thing I do when I get home is steal her best scissors and head outdoors.

This little collection of David Austen's found a new home upon the mantelpiece. With the afternoon sun reflecting through the crystal, and the most amazing fragrance to suit, they were simply too beautiful for words.

happy weekend!!

Have a most gorgeous weekend my friends. Later today we are headed down to Sydney to attend the lovely Bec & Tims wedding. We have had an enormously busy week here printing in the studio, with very sore muscles and a sore foot from foot treadling Charlie so much, we bid you farewell and hope to arrive back in the studio refreshed and a little less sore!

Oh and the images above? Found via the sweet girls at Lella and Zee we adore this gorgeous calendar by the talented Catherine Campbell and declare it our favourite calendar of the new year! Available for just US$18 via her etsy store.

See you next week!

letterpress swing tags

We are crazy hectic here in the studio today. So many wedding packages in production - they are keeping us super busy indeed!!

So for a quick little sweet blog post today I wanted to show you some very cute personalised swing tags we recently produced for Annie & Julian. You may remember their letterpress save the dates and letterpress wedding invitations we produced earlier this year. These gorgeous little tags featured a letterpress outer casing, with personalised insert, bound together with a silver eyelet and ivory ribbon. So very sweet!

andrew & kathy wedding stationery

We recently completed letterpress wedding invitations for the delightful Andrew & Kathy who are a local Brisbane couple who are getting married in February next year. Their wedding theme is based upon pale duck egg blue and coupled with small touched of sunflowers for their happy and joyful feel. Through out their wedding styling they will be evoking an air of elegance and classic timelessness.

We designed their letterpress wedding invitations with a gorgeous elegant script typeface coupled with a vintage serif for contrast. They chose to have their invitations personalised, so that each and every invitation is letterpress printed with the guests names.

A delicate vintage sunflower illustration was printed in a very light lemon so that it is only subtly visible and doesn't distract away from the gorgeous typography. Coupled with reply cards, thankyou cards and pinstripe lined envelopes these are a beautifully delicate and such a lovely fresh colour combination to work with!
